Case Study

The King's School, Worcester
Description (one paragraph) In 2023, King’s approached Craigmyle for help in building a sustainable growth plan that maximised return on investment and included a focused communication schedule. Working closely with the school team, we conducted a thorough analysis of fundraising capacity, held stakeholder interviews, and reviewed their case materials, offering recommendations. We identified opportunities to leverage volunteers and a development board to enhance the fundraising function. Our final report provided comprehensive analyses, recommendations, and ongoing support to ensure leadership buy-in and successful implementation.

The Collegiate Church of St Mary’s in Warwick
Description (one paragraph) A long-term client who returned for Craigmyle's assistance on its £1.4m fundraising campaign to restore the iconic tower. The campaign included a £250,000 grant from the National Lottery Heritage Fund, which supported both the repairs and the creation of a Virtual Reality exhibition showcasing the church’s 900-year history through interactive 3D displays viewable on smartphones and tablets. A local games company will develop the VR application, incorporating feedback from Warwick’s youth via focus groups, workshops, and partnerships with local schools, scouts, youth centers, and community organisations. Craigmyle led a team of consultants, church staff, and volunteers through a 16-month campaign that also secured a £100,000 grant from the District Council and nearly £700,000 from a targeted trust campaign.

Fight against Blindness
Description (one paragraph) Fight Against Blindness (FAB) is a small charity supporting children and young people with sight loss and visual impairment across the UK, helping them achieve their full potential. Since 2021, Craigmyle has partnered with FAB to review and enhance its fundraising efforts. With FAB's goal to expand service delivery, Craigmyle has mainly focused on increasing income from trusts and foundations. Craigmyle has provided in depth research capacity to identify new prospects, helped develop and strengthen the FAB case for support, managed the schedule of applications, and advised on cultivation and stewardship. In three years, FAB's income more than doubled from £65,000 in 2020 to £150,000 in 2023, enabling them to launch a new project in London in partnership with Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH). Craigmyle continues to manage the trust programme as well as provide guidance on governance, communications and fundraising strategic development.
